Eternal Soul was so critical to Dark Magician becoming capable of legitimacy again, so why not give its rival the same? Can’t wait until they get their own Dark Magical Circle. Blue-Eyes were bound to get their own copy. Both archetypes get great support from both cards. True Light may have restrictions on what you can search, but that is dependent on what you’ve played, and they will always have more to search than Dark Magician because of Eternal Soul’s narrow effect on its search.Įternal Soul vs True Light. Dark Magician players may only get to search Dark Magic Attack or Thousand Knives (many don’t play either) while Blue-Eyes players get a wide range of searching, but they have to avoid copies they already have, and that can be annoying. The setting of a Spell/Trap that is Blue-Eyes White Dragon-theme isn’t as good as Eternal Soul’s effect because you have to avoid the ones you control and that are in the grave…also, you have to set it so that screws over Quick-Play Spell cards. Same Special Summon effect except for Blue-Eyes White Dragon, expected. Target protect for “Blue-Eyes White Dragon” covers any monster considered Blue-Eyes White Dragon, but isn’t the total protection from card effects like Eternal Soul gives “Dark Magician”.
